Lipodissolve
 |
Definition. Lipodissolve is billed as a non-surgical alternative to liposuction. Lipodissolve involves the injection of mild medications and enzymes into areas with unwanted fat. The concentration of vitamins, minerals, and various specially formulated pharmaceuticals in Lipodissolve is theoretically strong enough to achieve moderate levels of Body Contouring and successful cellulite removal in fewer sessions than traditional Mesotherapy. These chemicals cause the fat to dissolve, and it is flushed from the system through the patient’s urine. Lipodissolve is effective for toning the face, as well as all parts of the body, and can also be beneficial in the reduction of cellulite. Lipodissolve proponents say this technology can reduce fat pockets in the upper and lower abdomen, thighs and upper arms as well as get rid of love handles, saddlebags, muffin tops, bra rolls, residual fat deposits from liposuction, fat pads under the eyes or chin, cellulite, stretch marks and scars. Some say this technology can improve skin tone and elasticity, as well as increase the production of collagen, a protein that keeps the skin firm. Lipodissolve involves a series of medicated injections that may melt away unwanted small, localized areas of fat. While the ingredients used in lipodissolve may vary depending on the doctor and the area being treated, the chemical cocktail typically includes phosphatidylcholine/deoxycholate (PCDC), multivitamins, alpha lipid acid, enzymes and plant extracts. Phosphatidylcholine is approved to break down blood fats that may increase risk for heart disease, but it is not approved for injection or any other purpose. Some doctors may also add non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, antibiotics and hormones to the mix. During lipodissolve, your doctor injects the chemical cocktail into the fat layers and connective tissue. The injection is relatively painless, with no need for anesthesia. The medication produces a chemical reaction in conjunction with the body's physiology to dissolve localized areas of fat. There is no down-time after lipodissolve.
Is it right for me? Injection Lipolysis is suitable for both women and men who are not excessively overweight and have certain problem areas of fatty deposits that do not respond to diet and exercise. Injection Lipolysis treatments also offer a solution to those who have areas of fatty deposits that bother them, but are unwilling to undergo surgical liposuction.
Advantages. Injection Lipolysis is referred to as the "Lunchtime Lipo", as the procedure usually requires less than one hour. Unlike many other weight loss and cellulite programs, Non-Surgical Fat Reduction with Injection Lipolysis does not require a special diet, exercise, or increased fluid intake. An entirely non-surgical method, the Injection Lipolysis solution is injected into parts of the body with considerable fat deposits, which are then broken down by the injected pharmaceutical agents and released through sweat, urine or feces, over a period of two weeks.
Disadvantages. The injections do liquefy fat, but where the fat goes is anyone's guess. Potentially it could be filtered through the liver, creating a fatty liver. Such excess fat in the liver can result in inflammation and possible scarring and liver failure. The liquefied fat may also wind up in the blood vessels, where it could add to existing fatty plaque and increase the risk of heart attack or stroke. Infection, disfiguring masses of inflamed tissue and tissue death can occur after lipodissolve, especially when the procedure is performed by laypeople. Some plastic surgeons are seeing indentations and divets (depressions) in the skin of people who have undergone lipodissolve. Such defects can be extremely difficult to correct. Lipodissolve should not be used in pregnant women, nursing mothers or obese individuals; or in people with diabetes, autoimmune diseases, vascular (blood vessel) complications or infections of any kind. It is not an appropriate treatment for large areas of fat. Rarely, as with all other procedures, a client may have an adverse allergic reaction to one the medications used. Injection Lipolysis contains a consistent mixture of 4-5 pharmaceutical agents, and has proven to be a safe and effective procedure when it is under the supervision of a licensed physician who has been certified in the specialized Injection Lipolysis procedure.
Results. Typically, benefits are seen within three weeks of the treatment. Several treatments, four to six weeks apart, are often required to produce the optimal result. Reports indicate that the fat loss achieved through Injection Lipolysis treatments typically does not return, but as with many fat loss programs, new weight gain can build up new fat in the same areas. Additional treatments are carried out for areas with larger fatty deposits in order to achieve the desired size. The actual number of treatments required will be based on individual characteristics including the severity of the condition, body and fat structure and personal goals. A balanced diet along with regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle is recommended to optimize and maintain SKIN's Injection Lipolysis treatments. SKIN's Injection Lipolysis treatments require no recovery period, however there may be some swelling and bruising at the injection site for several days after treatment. There is an increase in warmth in the treated area immediately following treatment and some discomfort during the 24 hours following the injection. Clients can return to work immediately after treatment.
